Critical Ecologies Lab

An interdisciplinary collaboration of faculty and students at the University of South Carolina who analyze contemporary environmental issues through the lenses of culture, history, and political economy.

Home

The Critical Ecologies lab is a group of geographers, anthropologists, and historians at the University of South Carolina working at the intersections of political ecology, environmental history, science and technology studies, economic and political geography, and environmental anthropology. Our interests are broad but united by a shared commitment to bringing critical perspectives to bear on contemporary environmental issues.

We began in Fall 2014 as a faculty writing group, meeting each month to share and discuss our work. We continue to share work and are looking forward to expanding our activities in the coming years.
